my 'how i became a potter' story.

In early 2023, amongst the chaos and craziness being a mum of two kids under four and working as a graphic designer, I somehow managed to find a couple of hours a week for ‘mummy mental maintenance’ time and enrolled myself into a pottery course on a whim. I had no idea if I’d love or hate it, but 2 hours to play in mud, get absolutely filthy and end up with a wonky mug to show for after 8 weeks seemed like a good idea right?

...Absolutely RIGHT!!!

The moment I sat down at the wheel all of my focus and energy shifted to the here and now, not the million things on my to-do list.

All I could think about was how to make the lump of clay in front of me somewhat resemble a drinking vessel by the end of the 2 hours.

You could say it was love at first throw and I haven't looked back since. Pottery has become my form of meditation; a creative outlet, something I look forward to everyday!

I now have a little at-home pottery studio where my love for pottery and design intertwine to create one of a kind mugs and cups that I think will bring some fun to kitchen shelves and give mug lovers something special that they can’t find anywhere else!

Cheers! N x
